Earth Caravan 2015 photoalbum

Seventy years after the end of the Second World War, the Earth Caravan travelled as a caravan across three continents to express our wish for a peaceful future of the world to and to inspire people to stand up and advocate for peace.

Beginning in Hiroshima, then traveling to Kyoto and Tokyo, the Earth Caravan held music concerts, charity festivals, Nembutsu chanting, healing ceremonies, interfaith prayer vigils, and embraced our common wish for a bright future, for sharing happiness and freedom, and for an end to nuclear weapons and war.

The Caravan also received special permission from the city of Hiroshima to have the Peace Flame accompany it throughout the journey from Japan, to Europe and the Middle East. The Peace Flame was taken from one of the flames that burned after the atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima in August 1945. It has been preserved and kept alive until today in the Peace Tower at Hoshino village in Fukuoka prefecture.
